In Da Clouds Tortola July 2024 - Sage Mountain BVI
Early July 2024 driving on Tortola BVI in the clouds from leftover Hurricane Beryl systems. We drive by the entrance to Sage Mountain National Park which I estimate at 1200-1300 feet above sea level.

950 Horsepower Turbo 1968 Impala Boost Exhaust Cutout
Просмотров 2 тыс.5 лет назад
Sound Performance 4" boost activated cutout on a 1968 Turbo LS Impala. Starts to open around 7 PSI and full open by about 11. Huge power gains versus the full Magnaflow exhaust. The camera was in the fully enclosed case so it sounds a little rough.

Hows spool up with the 1.25 housing looking at a 1.10 atm
I don't really didn't have anything to reference it to, but it was ok. When it was cold it spooled fast but when hot out, it seemed a little laggy. Going with lower viscosity trans fluid helped the converter come up a bit which was noticeable. I always wanted to try the 1.10 housing to see if it made a significant difference but never got a chance. I would say it's worth a try.
@@prix462 well, bought a Chinese one for cheap so I guess I'll find out if it's any good
Check your pm on ls1tech please.

You still got this pipe???
Sorry, sold it 10 years ago:) I wish I did though, I'd mount it on the wall.
Tachometer and gauge cluster in a 68 Impala . That is super rare. I hope you got enough for this one !!!!
Not as much as I had in it:). I added the tach cluster before they went nutso on price. It was a nice setup.
Any new updates on that car? I happen to have a LS turbo 68 Impala as well, curious.
I sold the car the end of 2018. I tried to get into the 9's and grenaded the diff. I rebuilt it and drove on the street with the kiddos but sold it due to not using it much. It was a super fun car.
I want that exhaust for my bike! Anybody know of one for sale?

I want that exhaust for my bike. Looks great and sounds better!
AES Racing Mufflers in Aus make a far stronger version, check it out on facebook...
Hey do you still have the car
Sorry, It sold last year.
Seen the car for sale, can’t find it now, you still have it?
Like the new paint, love to see the family enjoying the car, the look on the kids faces when you get on it, priceless..
Saw the Ebay post......fantastic car inside and out. Nice work.
Beautiful car wouldn’t change a thing...
How do you like the S475 as far as torque? I was thinking of going with an LSA or Turbo .
Mountains of torque but comes in slower than a blower. Not as violent but once in boost every gear feels the same.
Al Loco thanks yeah its sounds bad ass., I'm also thinking turbo may be less hard on parts? Are you using the E38 pcm that came with your ly6? Where did you get it tuned? Sorry for all the questions lol
@@SoftiesTruck No problem man. It is the E38 that came with it. I wanted to keep everything the same. It was tuned at Late Model Throttle in WI using HPTuners. Now that the TerminatorX is out I would probably go that way now. Between the custom harness, credits, wideband, and boost controller I would be about even or ahead but have closed loop boost control.
Alex Locker lol I know what you mean., I already have the dang e38 psi harness and aem wideband. I can't even sell my brand new psi harness... oh well.
beautiful car, and fast too.
I'm thinking about installing a 200-R4 in my '68 sedan. Is it a lot of trouble?
It's not bad because the length is similar to a TH350 and Powerglide. I believe I used the stock driveshaft. Setting up the TV cable and governor for shift points is a giant pain in the rear. Plus finding parts for the 2004r is becoming more difficult. In hindsight a 4L80 is probably the way to go even though it will cost more initially. I have one now and it's been fantastic.
Its because of the heat

Great Build, what are your full cam specs? I have just about the same exact build with a 66 Chevelle.
the kids faces!!! priceless
What size carb?
what motor do u have and headers and did u have to beat the hell out of them to fit the driver side?
Was this car at the performance shop in Waukesha?
Yes it was, a couple of times. When did you see it?
Al Loco last year around the spring time, it had jus come off the rollers
I'm curious, did you end up selling this car? I believe I saw in an ad. I'd be interested in purchasing it if it's available.
Where did you have to modify it? Only behind the rear axel?
wft
Nice
4.88 gears you must really lack low end torque. I'm running 3.36 gears with a th400 and can light'um up at will.
Post up a video and show us.
Al Loco don't have a RUclips channel but my 496 stroker can light my tires off idle.
al do u have stock ecu? what car or truck if so. mine done pop n bang. how is it pulling ur timing ?
have u logged spark advance on 2 step
That 68 Impala is fast bro! keep it up
What's that idling at holy cow
I'm buying that system for my 68. how was the fit with the pipes?
Not great. I had to chop the crap out of it to fit. If you look at the web site they designed it on a 65-66 which had a shorter gas tank. It's a decent value if you have the ability to cut and splice it back together to fit properly. Shop around for pricing, some sites are way less than retail.
Al Loco , finally got it installed, you were 100% right, needed lots of "massaging" to get it to fit right. especially when installed a TH400 equipped car. Thanks for the heads up.
Anytime, I can see where there would be issues with the trans, the X-pipe angles are off. How about the tank, that was my biggest issue. I tried to get Magnaflow to either change the description or modify it. Their response was "it must be installed at a professional exhaust shop".
Al Loco The X pipe was a pain. The tail pipes were not too bad. Little tight around panhard rod and I have a roll bar installed, but it went in without major issues. But it is easier to have a shop do it. Good luck with your Imp!
what's 1/8 mile time low 6s?
6.648 at 106. If I can get boost in it quicker it should pick up nicely in the 330'. The 12 bolt does not like it. It's whining like a baby now.
What turbo? How much boost u leave on
daaaaaaaaayymmmmmmmmm this is awesome adding this to my favs

Plz Post a video of the whole car. ..very nice!
Joe hardwick I realize I don't have any video of the outside of the car. It is currently down due to an engine swap but will get video when it's done. In the meantime, you can see the car here ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1764569-1968-impala-turbo-ly6-4l80e-swap.html
What size rims on it?
Joe hardwick 18x8 up front and 18x9.5 in the rear.
Hey man i was wondering if the bike was still for sale. let me know
